Freak Out Cruise (57 images)

JBA SPEED SHOP hosted the Mopar Club of San Diego's "Freak Out Cruise." Particpants cruised through the JBA lot showing off their rides. Donations collected benefited San Diego Fleet Week and Wounded Warrior Homes.
Even though the Mopar Club San Diego had to cancel its 23rd annual All American Car Show due to the COVID pandemic, the club teamed up with J Bittle and his JBA Speed Shop in San Diego to come up with a new way to help the show’s beneficiaries: The Freak Out Cruise, held July 19, 2020, at the JBA Speed Shop site. Motorheads were invited to break out their fabulous rides and cruise to and through the JBA site and donate funds for Wounded Warrior Homes and Fleet Week San Diego, as well as non-perishable food goods for the Wounded Warrior Homes pantry. Photos were taken of each participant, burnouts were allowed, and from there, participants were provided with a bayside cruise route, ending up at STP Bar-n-Grill, where they could get a discounted meal. The event collected almost $3,000, to be combined with funds previously donated by club members for the two beneficiaries, plus almost 300 pounds of foodstuffs. President Jeff Walker said, “The pandemic put the brakes on our annual car show, but our show beneficiaries needed our help more than ever during this crisis. Thank you to all who made it possible for us to raise $6,000 for them.”
At the August club meeting, held at JBA Speedshop, President Jeff Walker presented J with an appreciation piston trophy, thanking him and his crew for their longtime support of the San Diego car community and especially the Freak Out Cruise.
